MACH MACHINES USED AT HOME

MACH LARGE MACHINES USED IN FACTORIES

All these Inventors had Individual Skill and Vision! They were all helping develop the weaving industry. But these machines usually also helped develop other areas of industry, for example, the iron industry, or the coal industry. Steam engines were also beginning to become more commonplace and many of these machines could be powered by steam, too.  Samuel Greg liked to change his machines regularly to keep up to date with the new technology. Robert Greg, Samuel Greg's son, who later became the owner of the mill, was always encouraging his father to use even newer technology. The newest, most advanced power looms could by powered by water or steam.

Power looms were massive compared to the earlier machines and needed a larger space to house them. In 1836, alterations were made to the building.
